My Story

When people ask me why I decided to become a designer, I always tell them the story of when I was 11 years old. It was a carefree summer break, and I was watching Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away. In the middle of the movie, there's a scene where the train carrying Chihiro and No-Face runs through the surface of the water. As they pass by a small island with a house, the sun sets, and the lights and colors of the train pull me into the screen. For a moment, the world a few feet away from me becomes so real that I feel like I can reach out and touch it.

That moment was a turning point for me. I knew right then and there that I wanted to design and create worlds that would transport people to another universe and make them feel alive.
